What is "Sudoku"?
Sudoku or "su doku" it is a placement puzzle game. The work Sudoku means "number alloted" or "the number that is single" in Japanese.
Who invented Sudoku?
There are no records on who invented the game. The puzzle was first published in the late 1970's in North America in New York by publisher "Dell Magazines" under the name of "Number Place".
The puzzle got its Sudoku name when it was introduced in Japan by Nikoly in 1984.
What are the rules of a Sudoku Game?
The puzzle is a 9x9 grid with 81 cells. It is split in 3x3 regions. Some cells have numbers in them witch are called "givens". Each column, each row and each region may contain only one instance of each number. You complete the puzzle when you have filled all the grid with the correct numbers.
How do I print a Sudoku Puzzle?
You must first be a registered user. If you do not have an account you can create one. After you have an account login and a new menu will appear with all the Sudoku puzzles available for you for today.
Select the difficulty level that you want and at the top of the puzzles click on the small printer icon. This will open a new window that has only the puzzles in it on a white background so that you do not waste paper or ink.
In this new window click the small printer again, select your printer and print the puzzles.
How long does it take to solve a Sudoku puzzle?
Depeding on your skill level and the difficulty of the puzzle it may take 10-30 minutes.
How many solution does a Sudoku Puzzle have?
A well formed Sudoku Puzzle has a unique solution. However you may find puzzles that have more than one solution. The puzzles you can print on this site have only one solution.
Can I solve puzzles online?
If you can not print the puzzles you can solve them online just as you would do on paper. The advantage of solving them online is that you have a checker that you can use to see if you have broken any rules.
